About Kollabit

Kollabit is a remote-first software studio in Canada. We build websites, CRM systems, mobile apps and AI automation for small businesses — mostly legal and real estate practices who've been quoted $15,000 and three months by someone else.

We scope work in days and ship in days. That only works with people who can go from a conversation to a working product without a project manager in between.

About the role

You're the person who can build the whole thing. Database to deployed. Not a frontend dev waiting on an API, not a backend dev waiting on designs — the entire product.

Our projects run two to ten days. There's no time for handoffs, tickets or waiting on anyone. You get a scope, you build it, the client watches it come alive. If that sounds stressful, it isn't — it's what building software felt like before it got committee'd to death.

What you'll do

• Build complete web products — websites, CRMs, internal tools, client portals — start to finish
• Make architecture calls yourself and live with them
• Turn a 30-minute client conversation into a working product
• Set up hosting, domains, deployment and monitoring so the client never has to think about it
• Hand over clean, documented work the client's next developer won't curse you for
• Occasionally review or rescue somebody else's codebase

What we're looking for

• 5+ years shipping web products, ideally including client or agency work
• Genuinely full-stack — React/Next.js or similar on the front, real backend and database work behind it
• You've built and shipped something alone, all the way to production, more than once
• Fast and careful. Speed without tests is not the flex you think it is
• Comfortable with ambiguity and direct client contact
• Portfolio of live work

Nice to have

• Built CRMs or workflow tools for non-technical users
• Astro, Cloudflare, Supabase or Postgres
• Payment integrations, Stripe especially
• You've been the only engineer at a company before
