AI Product Engineer
Accountable engineering. Two hundred a day.
One accountable project engineer is the normal model, subject to capacity and continuity needs. Written scope confirms staffing, start date, minimum days, cancellation and deployment environment.
Why people do this
You're paying for process, not code.
AI-assisted engineering can compress some delivery work. We scope the smallest useful build in engineer-days and confirm the team and timeline before billing.
What you get
Seven things, one person.
One accountable engineer.
First call to final deploy. No handover, no re-explaining.
Scoping in day counts, not phases.
You get a number of days before you commit to any of them.
Building in the open.
A staging link from day one. You watch it happen instead of waiting for a reveal.
Deployment included.
Hosting, domains, SSL, the boring parts. It goes live, it doesn't get handed over as a zip file.
Handover that's actually usable.
Repo, credentials, documentation, and a walkthrough. You can hire anyone after us.
Cancellation terms in writing.
Book an approved block of engineer-days; minimums and notice terms are confirmed in writing.
Direct contact.
You message the person building it. No ticket queue, no account manager translating.
Modules are conditional capabilities. Providers, data handling, permissions, integrations, evaluation and human review are confirmed in the written scope.
How it works
Four steps. Start timing is confirmed against current capacity.
01 — One call.
Thirty minutes on the actual problem.
02 — A day count.
Not a proposal. A number and what it covers.
03 — Prototype, free.
One feedback round before any money.
04 — Build and ship.
Billed by the day under the approved written scope.

Work examples are being prepared.
No client logo or project image is published without a complete record and permission.
No permissioned proof record is currently published.
How this starts
You see the work before you buy the days.
One clickable prototype and one feedback round are free. If you stop there, no payment is due and you keep the feedback; the prototype remains Kollabit property unless the engagement proceeds, subject to our Terms.

The ones we get asked.
How much is an AI product engineer per day?
$200 CAD per engineer-day. Minimum days and availability are confirmed in the written scope. Simple and typical estimates are non-binding. Final scope is confirmed before billing; taxes and third-party costs are additional.
What's the minimum?
One day. Simple and typical estimates are non-binding. Final scope is confirmed before billing; taxes and third-party costs are additional.
Is it the same person the whole time?
One accountable engineer is the normal model; continuity depends on capacity and project needs.
What if I need more than one?
Additional engineering capacity may be scoped at the same day rate; timing and output do not scale linearly.
How do you scope in days without a discovery phase?
A thirty-minute call is enough for most small business builds. If it isn't, we'll say so on the call.
What if it takes longer than quoted?
We tell you before the day count is exceeded, not after. You decide whether to continue.
Can I stop mid-project?
Yes, any time. You keep everything paid for. Collection, provider configuration, retention, access, deletion, human review and regulated-data handling are confirmed in the written privacy/security scope.
Do you do ongoing maintenance?
Book approved blocks of engineer-days when capacity is available.
What if I want to bring it in-house later?
Good. Repo, credentials and documentation transfer after final payment, subject to our Terms. No outcome is guaranteed; the free prototype tests the direction before billing. One clickable prototype and one feedback round are free. If you stop there, no payment is due and you keep the feedback; the prototype remains Kollabit property unless the engagement proceeds, subject to our Terms.
Are you actually one person or an agency?
A small remote-first Canadian studio. One accountable engineer normally owns the project, with staffing confirmed during scope.
How many days do you think it is?
Tell us the problem on a call. We'll give you a number, not a proposal.
